What My Days Actually Look Like as a Mom of Two Building a Business

I think there’s a common misconception that if you’re building a business from home, you must be working constantly.
The truth is… I actually don’t work a lot of hours. But when I do work, it’s intentional.
I wanted to share what my days realistically look like as a mom of two while also building my business.
Not because it’s perfect...but because I want other moms to see that it’s possible to chase your dreams and still be present with your kids. Here’s a peek into a typical day.
5:30 AM – Quiet Work Time
I usually start my day while the house is still quiet.
I sip on my greens and get 1–2 hours of focused work done before my kids wake up.
This is often my most productive window of the day.
7:00 AM – Kids Wake Up
My kids usually wake up sometime between 7 and 8.
Once they’re up, my focus shifts fully to them.
We make breakfast, hang out, and decide what we want our morning to look like.
9:00 AM – Get Out of the House
One thing I’ve learned about mornings with kids is that getting out of the house helps everyone.
We try to get outside, run an errand, or go somewhere they can burn off some energy.
It usually sets us up for a much smoother afternoon.
12:00 PM – Nap + Workout
My daughter (Phyllie) goes down for her nap around noon.
That’s usually when I squeeze in my workout.
Reese often plays nearby or does a kids workout while I move my body.
1:30 PM – A Small Work Window
After my workout, I usually get about an hour (sometimes less) of work done.
Reese might do an activity, play independently, or have some quiet time with a movie.
This is another little pocket of productivity.
3:00 PM – Afternoon Energy Boost
Around this time of day I usually mix up an Energy Fizz to help carry me through the last couple hours of the day.
Until my husband gets home, we might:
go outside
go for a walk
do a craft or activity
5:00 PM – Dinner + Multitasking
Once my husband gets home, he usually takes kid duty while I start dinner.
This is also when I might multitask by:
responding to DMs
listening to a podcast or audiobook
catching up with family
7:00 PM – Bedtime + Team Calls
On Tuesdays I usually have a team call.
Other nights I might:
fold laundry
tidy up the house
or just hang out while bedtime happens
8:00 PM – One More Work Window
Sometimes I dive into a little more work once the kids are asleep.
Other nights I just relax and spend time with my husband.
10:00 PM – Bed
I try to be in bed by 10 PM so I can get enough rest and do it all again the next day.

Why I Wanted to Share This
I’m sharing this because I want other moms to see that it’s possible to:
build something meaningful
chase your dreams
and still be present with your kids
My work hours aren’t huge or super long. But they’re intentional and consistent, and that’s made all the difference.
